Holly Robinson Peete Meditates to Start Her Morning
Stress less this holiday season by following these tips

“If I can get a 15- or 20-minute meditation in that to start my day off, well, that’s my little bit of self-care, and it goes a long way.” — Holly Robinson Peete
Everybody talks about self-care, but really, what is it? For Viola Davis, it means loving on her family and hopping in the jacuzzi with the hubs. For Janelle Monae, it means therapy. For Holly Robinson Peete, it means being mindful. For Rachel True, it means tarot.
However you define it, they say, it is imperative that you make time to do it. If you need some ideas, here’s how one celeb ensured she had downtime and practiced mindfulness in 2020. Perhaps we can use this advice in 2021 as well.
Here’s the rest of what Holly Robinson Peete, who recently starred in several new Christmas classics on the Hallmark suite of channels, had to say:
In non-Covid times, you could catch me at the spa. Even if it’s just a massage, you know? The lights are low, the oil is hot. That is my idea of losing myself. But now, every single morning, I start the day with a meditation app. I try to start with mindfulness because you’re going to run into drama or the ups and downs of the day. And how do you approach that? So I don’t get out of the bed until I’ve actually had a moment of mindfulness and clarity and meditation. It can just be 15 or 20 minutes, but now there’s so many lowkey ways to do that. I use the Calm app. I really like that app a lot, but there’s so many of them now. We’re on our phones all day anyway, so it’s like, why not use your phone to help you start your day? So to me, if I can get on that app, if I can get a 15- or 20-minute meditation in that to start my day off, well, that’s my little bit of self-care, and it goes a long way.
