ZORA is a publication by, for and about women of color and our experiences. We are interested in well-researched stories and personal essays about living, loving, spirituality, relationships, pop culture, history, motherhood, daughterhood and analysis of current events. Humor must be labeled as such. Credit and annotations are recommended when listing historical facts and quotes taken from newspapers or other media.

Please spellcheck and fact check your piece before submitting. No plagiarism is allowed. Please ensure your full bio — with a first and last name — is filled out on your Medium profile, along with details on your areas of expertise.

In order to be considered, please post your story on your Medium profile. After you post, tag one or both of ZORA’s editors in the notes or the comments. (Editor Hoskin is here → https://medium.com/@mnhoskin25)

If we think the story is a good fit, we will invite you to submit the story to ZORA. We regret we are unable to provide notes or a response to every story submission.
