The Curious Case of Anthony Anderson

I saw a post recently that said there had been a fallout after Anthony Anderson hosted the 2024 Emmys. I haven’t seen any large-scale fallout, but my eyebrow raised a hair last December when it was announced that he would host. That same eyebrow raises when I hear a new Chris Brown song, anything about Trey Songz, or someone going on and on about “The Great”, Kobe Bryant. Now, what do all of these men have in common? They have multiple allegations of sexual assault or domestic violence that span decades. These figures have all seemingly missed the cancel culture boat because they are still widely popular amongst men and women. And that is all fine and good. Like Anthony Anderson, they also have a little asterisk on their public profile in the heads of people who are genuinely sympathetic to sexual assault and domestic abuse victims.

What makes Anthony different is he never got wide backlash or media attention around these multiple incidents of sexual assault, despite them all being very well documented. Seriously, just google his name and “sexual assault,” and you will see dozens of articles chronicling his misdeeds. One must wonder what kind of team, or should I say machine, he has behind him that he can have these allegations and continue to make shows as popular and beloved as Blackish
