The internet has been set ablaze with dissertations on The Cheesecake Factory date scandal. Well, here is one more dissertation, but in it, I will provide some things to consider about why a man takes you to the Cheesecake Factory, and why, sometimes, it says more about you than it does him.

Let me first say this: I don’t know why y’all are getting in cars with these men on first dates and not know where you are going! Are you trying to get kidnapped!?!? I don’t get in the car with a man on the first date, and I never not know where I am going on a first date before I arrive. I always arrive separately and let someone know where I am and who I am with just in case.

Here is why you may be getting dates to The Cheesecake Factory.

1. You Are Attracting on Your Level, but Desire More

Braggin’ on that cash that he gave you is a front
If you’re gonna brag, make sure it’s your money you flaunt
Depend on no one else to give you what you want — Destiny’s Child, Independent Women (Part 1)

A lot of women who are complaining about The Cheesecake Factory (or similar restaurants) for a date need to listen to Independent Women (Part 1 and 2); Bills, Bills, Bills; Survivor; and Upgrade U. A lot of you are looking for a man to give you social clout and gratification. You want to post on social media, brag to your friends, and feel special because some random man took you to a nice restaurant.

If you desire a five-star meal, give it to yourself! If you can’t afford it, stop expecting someone else to compensate for what you can’t do. Women married for lifestyle in the 50s and 60s when women were not given the same professional opportunities as men. This is the 21st century! Secure your bag and earn your lifestyle, and you will never look for anyone to give it to you…and they can never take it away.

You’re also seeking some validation of your worth by his choice of restaurant. You’re seeking something from without to help you with what is within. That’s backward. You have to deal with what is within, and that is done in…
