We All Have a Shadow Side, So Embrace Empathy This Week
This season, see yourself, and others, in the eyes of the divine
As the energy of the first New Moon of the astrological year settles, we’re expecting a disruptive wave of change and anticipating new beginnings that could drive us to take inspired action. But most of the change we’re currently feeling is a an internal call to action. I pulled the Revelation, or Judgement, card as part of my two-card weekly pull and the invitation to us is clear: to recognize and respond to the divine calling of self acceptance by way of empathy and unconditional love. We are turning on our love light by placing down our swords and sweetening our primal instincts.
This is a wake-up call to reflect on our emotional responses and dispel limiting expectations that don’t allow ourselves, our peers or our loved ones to be human. It is a reminder to all of us that the things we do value most as a community are not always tangible. It’s how we respond when love is directed to us, but also paying attention to how we instinctively respond when energy that feels opposite of love is being projected at us. It’s a new beginning in responding with empathy and understanding that sometimes requires us to perceive things outside of our own experiences.
