Watching HBO’s ‘The Last of Us’ Made My Gamer Heart So Happy
We love a video game adaptation that respects the source material!

After I finished watching the season finale of HBO’s The Last of Us, I thought, “Wow, this has to be the best damn video game adaptation ever made.” Its love for the source material it brings to life is crystal clear. That’s the real reason why it’s so damn good.
I remember when the game The Last of Us was released over a decade ago. I’m a PlayStation girl through and through, so I was obsessed with this game when it was initially released. It featured such a beautifully raw story, with thrilling gameplay that would at times, be terrifying.
I loved that the show clearly respects the source material, but also isn’t afraid to take risks. This show is a great way for The Last of Us legacy to continue.
The acting is phenomenal. The writing is so, so good. The world-building is spot on. Come award season 2024, The Last of Us is going to get a ridiculous amount of awards.
I would absolutely recommend it to anyone who’s even mildly interested in the subject matter: post-apocalyptic stories, zombies, and what you’ll do for your family. This is the one, y’all. Check. It. Out. If. You. Haven’t. Already.

The last new video game she played was Sonic Frontiers. Then, her PS4 went haywire during the final level, no longer accepting discs. She hasn’t finished the game since. She’s still very upset by it.
