Every time I tell someone I live in Greece, they get excited and begin going on about how it's on their bucket list to visit. Of course, I follow up with, “Where do you want to go in Greece?!”

They quickly respond, “What's that island called..Myk…Mykonos?”

I roll my eyes and say “Ugh, it's beautiful, but overpriced, overpopulated, and a tourist trap.”

Greece is such a geographically diverse country. One minute you’re in one of the most unique lush mountainous lands and the next you are on the beach in cool pristine waters. You have rugged, rocky hills then miles of green landscapes. AND it’s all within 5 hours of Athens.

I recently took a solo road trip to two beach towns that locals frequent and a mountain town that would leave even the most avid traveler stunned.
