Illustration of Psalm One by Tiffany Burriss

Those are words by Psalm One, a rapper who says she was mistreated and sexually harassed by her record label. She also writes that she is a failed rapper, but perhaps that is too harsh a statement to make at this moment. Still, she gives herself grace, especially knowing that queer female rappers are held to a different standard than any other. Psalm One writes about her experiences and ultimately, her journey to healing herself.
