Sizzurp in the Black Community: Is It the Cause of Lil’ Wayne’s Memory Loss?
Black people are often left out of the conversation when it comes to the core of this problem

It’s been reported that 40-year-old, award-winning rapper Lil’ Wayne is having memory loss so severe that he can’t even remember his own songs.
In a recent interview, Lil’ Wayne admitted that not only is he having trouble recalling the lyrics to his songs, but he also doesn’t even know when any of his music was released. And, he says those accomplishments hold no significance for him now because he can’t remember.
This is so sad and really scary.
Reportedly, Lil’ Wayne’s memory loss is caused by him having too many seizures. He had been prescribed epilepsy medication about 10 years ago after having recurring seizures.
And at one point, his seizures were so frequent and so bad that he was hospitalized in critical condition after being found unresponsive a few times with a high amount of codeine (a narcotic opiate) in his system from drinking “sizzurp” (a codeine-laced drink).
Lil’ Wayne has said that the reasons for his seizures are sleep deprivation, stress, and overworking himself.
But, since he has publicly stated how much he loves sizzurp and the fact that some in his entourage witnessed him downing up to three bottles of codeine cough syrup in a sitting, many believe that his sizzurp addiction is the cause of his seizures.
It certainly seems plausible that Lil’ Wayne’s long-term battle with frequent seizures is connected to his long-term use (or abuse) of sizzurp, as a self-confirmed sizzurp drinker.
What Is Sizzurp (Lean)?

Sizzurp is a homemade drug drink that’s made by mixing prescription purple cough syrup containing codeine, alcohol (or Sprite or Mountain Dew), and sometimes hard candy like Jolly Ranchers to make it sweeter and mask the taste.
