Spoiler alert: If you plan on finishing the original Power series, please know the below story has a number of series finale spoilers.

If Power fans didn’t rock with Tariq when his father Ghost was alive, why would we rock with Tariq this fall — especially after all the things he put his father and his family through? After six seasons of Power, and watching fine-ass Omari Hardwick in those custom suits, it was debatable whether we’d want to watch anyone else at all. Yet somebody at Starz, along with Power producer Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson and Power creator Courtney Kemp, figured the spinoff, Power Book II: Ghost, centering demon spawn Tariq, would be a great way to keep the drama-filled gravy train rolling.

Naturally, Power fans were skeptical. Afterall Tariq, who got his innocent sister Raina killed, earned his poster child status as the most ungrateful and spoiled offspring ever. Still, those concerns didn’t keep fans from the new show’s September 6 premiere.
