If God Is Black, Does That Mean White Folks Are Screwed On Judgement Day?

Anyone who grew up in Sunday school will readily appreciate the concept of heaven and hell.

And anyone who has more than a passing familiarity with Pentecostalism will also appreciate the degree to which the concept of heaven and hell has been used in frightening the wits out of people.

The notion of a place of eternal damnation is as powerful as it has ever been despite the extraordinary advances in technology; you only have to switch on the TV to any Christian channel to see the false peddlers of religion using the second coming of Jesus as a means of making vast amounts of money off gullible folks.

You know, the likes of Joel Osteen, Creflo Dollar, Kenneth Higgins, et al.

But what if we all get the biggest shock of our lives on judgment day and find out that the God whom we profess to serve and love is actually Black?

I am talking about a dark skin, a kinky-haired, bearded, and full-lipped individual who is the beginning and the end; alpha and omega; creator of the universe and everything in it.

How will people deal with this?

The question really should be, how will White folks deal with this?

I don’t imagine your quintessential “Karen” dealing with this very well. One imagines our dear friend completely losing her rag and asking the guy at the pearly gates to produce an ID, proving his identity as God almighty.

Karen might even try manipulating the angels into thinking that God isn’t who he says he is; that he’s some sort of an imposter who has no business saying that he is the great I am.

And if God is anywhere near as vindictive as he was in the old testament, he would go out of his way to mete out the harshest possible punishment on the race of people who dared to enslave, whip, lynch and colonize Black folk.

And for those who need to know, the bible in the Book of Revelations is quite vivid in its description of hell:

And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their…
