The older we get, the less we gossip about men
Wedding season has come to a close for me. I watched a beloved friend from college and my best friend of 26 years get married this summer. It’s been a year of anticipation. I was a bridesmaid in my best friend’s wedding, so that included a bachelorette party in Vegas. Now my life is a little quieter.
It was such a privilege to be involved in my friend’s major milestones. Spending time with them was only a reminder that I’m very lucky to have friends like them.
They were the first of my close friends to get married. I suppose the rest will follow suit. It seems like most of my peers are feeling the fears that come along with reaching their thirties.
The fear of getting older.
The fear of starting a family too late.
That’s normal, and I get it.
We’ve reached the age where our romantic relationships are starting to have more meaning. If a relationship isn’t going to lead to marriage, people are calling it quits. Better to start over at 30, than to waste any more young years on the wrong person.
As my friends have moved on to have more serious relationships and more private lives…
