“We are each other’s harvest; we are each other’s business; we are each other’s magnitude and bond.” — Gwendolyn Brooks, poet

We are under immense pressure this year, aren’t we? It’s not just because of the imminent election, but also because of the lockdown and how we are — or are not — social distancing. I don’t know about you, but I’ve been livid whenever I see a video posted on Twitter of some large, California house party when the state’s Covid rates are out of control, or in Florida, another hot spot, where people are gallivanting on the beach. I don’t think I’ll ever forget this kind of selfishness. But also remember that community is so important right now.

We are all we have. We have to invest in one another and look out for one another, and sometimes that involves getting out of our own way for the greater good.

Tell me, ZORA fam, how are you practicing goodness toward a stranger? How are your actions today for the benefit of someone other than yourself? #ZORACheckIn
