“Look, I want to say

The worst thing you can imagine has already

Zipped up its coat and is heading back

Up the road to wherever it came from.” — Tracy K. Smith, poet

I am a terrible worrier. No seriously. I have spent so much of my precious time and energy on conjuring up the worst-case scenarios and usually, they never manifest. In fact, the reality of the situation is not even close to what I thought would happen. Recently though, I began to wonder if I stopped obsessing over if things won’t work out and start making space for if they will. I can immediately take the load off of myself to control what is out of my hands and at its base level, it just feels good.

I look to this quote by Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Tracy K. Smith for inspiration. After your mind runs off to bad territories, it’s done. Allow the thought to pass — as all thoughts do. Thoughts do not mean reality. If we allow ourselves to surrender, let the thoughts pass, and continue to put one foot in front of the other, we may be surprised at all the goodness that awaits us if we make space for the good to arrive. #ZORACheckIn
