It’s easy to wallow in self-pity right now. There isn’t enough money. There isn’t enough Lysol. Hurricanes are coming. People are dying. Everyone is afraid of Covid-19 or police or the outcome of the presidential election. But it’s important not to despair. Even though times are tough and sometimes gloomy, it helps to balance out the glut with visions of beauty and memories of grandeur.

It’s okay and encouraged to self-reflect, but such reflection shouldn’t turn you into Mr. Freeze. Covid-19 has changed everything, but you still have your friends, your beloved pet, or your favorite TV show to binge-watch.
