Caught Between Racism and Business

I don’t belong to either political party.

To participate in our political system, I have to pick between a party that sort of acknowledges our deep racial problems and is on some level trying to fix them, and the other party, which doesn’t really acknowledge them.

As a result, I usually bend to the Democrats.

So we’re clear, I don’t think the Democrats have great solutions for our racial problems. They don’t, and they’ve been missing the mark for quite some time now.

Transportation Security Pete Buttigieg is one of the first government officials to actually tackle an entire system of racism. The highway system.

But the GOP isn’t even trying.

In Republicans’ world, racism is an individual problem of the few. Unfair systems and structures don’t exist in their fantasy country. There’s no pervasive unequal treatment of Black men and women by our police and justice system. According to them, there is no lopsided…
