10 Signs You’re Probably Racist
If you have to say you’re ‘the least racist person in the room,’ you’re probably not
Last night we all endured the last presidential debate between Donald Trump and Joe Biden wherein they went back and forth over topics of healthcare, climate change and, of course, race.
Trump was immediately on the defensive, proclaiming to be “the least racist person in the room” and I’m willing to bet every Black person watching simultaneously rolled their eyes. Between consistently referring to Black people as “them” or “the Blacks” and his refusal to denounce white supremacy, it’s clear the president isn’t the least racist person in most rooms.
ZORA’s own Adrienne Samuels Gibbs has come up with a checklist for anyone claiming to be the least racist person in the room to ask themselves in order to determine the true nature of their hearts:
“Have you ever avoided using the words ‘Black people’ because saying the words makes you super uncomfy?”… “Do you think Abraham Lincoln was the savior of Black people everywhere, for all time?”
I have a strong feeling the president doesn’t meet the criteria.
